Seller and controller
Ledger App Learning is owned and operated by Rodney Lindsay, trading as Ledger App Learning. For personal data processed by Ledger App Learning, Rodney Lindsay is the data controller.
Data we collect and why
- Account data: email address and authentication data to create and secure your account.
- Profile and community data: display name, handle, badges, follows, comments, and public profile fields you opt into.
- Learning and portfolio data: lesson progress, quiz responses, review schedules, simulated trades, manual holdings, and watchlist symbols.
- Subscription data: plan, status, renewal dates, and Paddle customer or subscription references used to manage Premium access.
- Technical and communication data: device/browser data, error logs, support messages, email preferences, and email engagement events.
Legal bases
- Contract: providing accounts, lessons, portfolio tools, community features, and Premium subscriptions.
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention, service reliability, product improvement, and abuse moderation.
- Consent: optional cookies, analytics, push reminders, and non-essential emails.
- Legal obligation: transaction records, tax records, and lawful requests.
Payments, billing data, and Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When you buy Premium, Paddle acts as the payment processor and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects billing details such as name, billing address, payment method, country, tax identifiers, invoices, and fraud-prevention data. Card details are entered directly into Paddle's checkout and are not stored by Ledger App Learning. Paddle shares limited subscription information with us so we can activate, renew, cancel, and support your Premium access.
Sharing, retention, and rights
We share data with hosting, authentication, database, email, analytics/consent, push notification, professional adviser, authority, and Merchant of Record providers only where needed. We retain data while your account is active or as required for legal, tax, security, and support purposes, then delete or anonymise it when no longer needed. Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, or lodge a complaint with a regulator.
